武蔵大学で行われたSDGs 17 Partnership Fairにて、Wake Up Japanのブースを出展しました。
主に武蔵大学の学生が対象となる本フェアへ、Wake Up Japanは毎年出展しています。
当日は代表理事との鈴木と副代表理事で武蔵大学非常勤講師の長川が参加し、
ブースには約50名の来場がありました。
ブースではWUJやプロジェクトの簡単な説明資料と展示が行われ、
そして参加者にも実際にシールを貼る形で設問に答えてもらうソーシャルアクションを実施しました。
WUJでは今後も関連イベントや取り組みに、
積極的に参加する予定です。
Eighty years have passed since the end of World War II in 1945. Over these eighty years, many government statements have been issued to the world. Simultaneously, within the flow of time, all of us living in society—each different in our own ways—have lived together while expressing our personal hopes for peace, hopes that may not be recorded in history.
In this remarkable year, we have issued "Our Voices for Peace" on August 1st, and now, thanks to many people who kindly supported us, it is available in 4 languages; Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese.
So, what exactly is it?
A peaceful world is built by each and every one of us. Regardless of one's position or generation, surely everyone has a vision for the peaceful world they wish to see in this era. Therefore, we simply asked one mandatory question;
“What is your message to commemorate the 80th year after the end of World War II?”
This Voices of Peace began its conception several years ago, with the goal of gathering voices from civil society wishing for peace. Over the past year, we reached out to organizations and individuals both domestically and internationally, posing this simple question. We gathered over 100 responses.
Through repeated dialogue with our members and those who supported the project,
we wove these words together. On August 1st, we announced them as Voices for Peace.
On the same day, we submitted this statement as a petition to the Cabinet Office and visited to request the Japanese government issue its own 80th-anniversary statement so-called "Danwa （談話）".
The main message of voices is;
"What is missing here and now?
What is it that we, I, and you cannot see at this moment from where we stand?"
We hope that whenever people of any position or background meet, they can begin their own dialogue with this voice at the center.
For us, August 1st is the beginning. We hope many people will read this voice, use their voices, and join our circle.
You can still add your voices by December 31st, 2025.
